Presence at Life’s Threshold

Services

At Sacred Haven, I companion individuals and families through the threshold of dying with reverence, compassion, and grace. My work blends the heart of trained doula care with the skill of a hospice-oriented, HPN-certified nurse, offering support that is both deeply human and professionally grounded. As this work is my ultimate passion, compensation allows me to dedicate myself fully to serving clients and their families. Please know that while payment sustains the practice, I lead first and always with heart, care, and mindfulness.

  • My standard Doula rate is $60/hr.

Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse Consulting is $80/hr. This is specialized guidance rooted in my CHPN nursing background. This includes hospice navigation, symptom and medication education, family teaching, and medically-informed advance care planning. This care consulting can be added on as needed but must be differentiated as doula services are primarily non-medical in nature.

  • For those seeking guidance in preparing for end of life

    • 2 sessions of advance planning (2 hrs each)

    • Ritual or legacy exploration outline

    • 1 follow-up session for integration

  • For families desiring presence and support during the final days

    • Up to 20 hours of vigil sitting and doula presence

    • Family support and guidance around rituals and somatic practices

    • Assistance with legacy or memorial projects

  • For those who wish for sustained support across the final months

    • Up to 50 hours of comprehensive doula care

(planning, vigil, legacy, rituals, eulogy writing, family photography, sound therapy and somatic practices)

    • Unlimited text support and on-call availability

    • Space to adapt services as needs unfold

*Hours unused due to death will be reimbursed to the individual(s) agreed upon prior to start of services

  • To ensure every person in need of services receives care, I offer a sliding scale, available on a case-by-case basis.

Clients are invited to choose a rate that feels both sustainable and honoring of the care received. If you have the means, it is greatly appreciated—paying what you are able allows me to provide care for those that otherwise might not access it.

About Me

My name is Caitlin Leilani Tallungan, I am honored you are here. I have spent my career walking alongside people in some of life’s most vulnerable and profound moments over a decade in healthcare.

Serving as a RN in specialties such as emergency, trauma, and hospice (undeniably the work that stole my heart)—I have witnessed both the fragility and powerful resilience of the human spirit. I am a Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse (CHPN), which deepens my ability to bring clarity, comfort, and grounded knowledge to clients and their circle of support navigating end-of-life.

Becoming a doula in this work has been a beautiful process over the course of years — one which I feel is my life calling. I believe that dying—like birth—is not a medical event but a sacred passage. My role is to hold space for presence, dignity, and meaning as you and your circle approach the greatest threshold of life.

I have been trained with International End-of-Life Doula Association (INELDA), Going With Grace, and Doulagivers. In addition to these partnerships, I am a proud member of the National End-of-Life Doula Alliance (NEDA).

Whether through advanced planning, ritual exploration, vigil sitting, legacy projects, or holding heavy moments with a calm presence, I offer care that honors the whole person: body, mind and spirit.

Each individual’s journey is unique and I feel deeply honored to walk beside you. Learn more
